Arlene Hansen

Arlene Hansen
Arlene graduated in 1992 from the Community Rehabilitation Services Program, Lakeland College. She has worked in a variety of settings from Senior Assisted Living, Community Living and schools from Preschool to College/University. She has extensive training working with children and young adults with Autism working for several years at a private school in Calgary in the Specialized Services for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders program and then transitioned to the Assistive Technology team. In this role she implemented and supported students in using their AAC devices, taught in-services to school staff and outside agencies. For the last 2 years, Arlene was the Canadian Consultant for PRC and Saltillo.

With 15+ years of experience in AAC and Assistive Technology, Arlene has in-depth knowledge of Accent and Saltillo products including vocabulary sets, alternate access, environmental control and mounting options. She consults with Speech Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Teachers and families to help support and train their teams, before and after the device is delivered.

She considers herself as a valuable member of your team; someone you can count on, someone knowledgeable, and someone dedicated to empowering customers with complex communication needs.

Patrick Fothergill

Patrick Fothergill
Patrick earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Linguistics and Social-Cultural Anthropology and his Master of Health Science in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Toronto.

From 2011 until joining Liberator Communications Canada in January 2018, Patrick was a Speech-Language Pathologist in Ontario AAC clinics serving children, youth and adults.

He has assessed the complex communication needs of people with ALS, Angelman syndrome, apraxia of speech, autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, Huntington’s disease, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, and Parkinson’s disease, among other conditions, and prescribed & supported high- and low-tech communication aids for them. While working with kids & youth, Patrick has helped school and behavioural-therapy teams implement augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).

Patrick is a registered Speech-Language Pathologist in Ontario (SLP Reg. CASLPO).
